Benefits and Payroll Specialist – Cassville, MO
Arning Companies, Inc. is seeking a Benefits and Payroll Specialist to join our team. In this role, you’ll be the go-to expert for all things related to employee pay and benefits. You’ll ensure our payroll process is accurate and compliant, while also administering our comprehensive benefits packages, from health insurance to retirement plans. Key Responsibilities
- Process Payroll: Accurately process bi-weekly payroll for all employees, including calculating wages, overtime, bonuses, and deductions.
- Benefits Administration: Manage the administration of all employee benefits, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, and 401(k) plans.
- Open Enrollment: Leads open enrollment, including but not limited to managing sign-up’s, fielding related questions, and processing plan changes.
- Compliance: Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local payroll and benefits regulations, including tax laws and reporting requirements (e.g., ACA, FMLA, COBRA).
- Employee Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries regarding pay, deductions, benefits eligibility, and enrollment.
- Record Maintenance: Maintain and update employee payroll and benefits records with a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality.
- Reporting: Prepare and submit required payroll and benefits reports to management and external agencies.
- Billing: Ensures billing accuracy with all lines of insurance and other vendor accounts.
- Onboarding & Offboarding: Handle payroll and benefits-related tasks for new hires and exiting employees.
- Unemployment: Processes unemployment forms and files protests as necessary.
- Other Duties: Performs other duties as assigned and asked to assist the HR Department with other HR related tasks (e.g., employee events, hiring processes, etc.)
Qualifications
- Experience: Proven experience (2+ years) in a payroll and benefits administration role.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex, Workday) and HRIS (Human Resources Information System) platforms.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy with complex numerical data.
- Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of payroll processing, tax regulations, and benefits administration principles.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong customer service orientation.
