Vice President of Engineering
The Vice President of Engineering is responsible for the strategic leadership, management, and overall performance of the engineering organization. This role oversees multiple engineering teams and ensures the successful planning, execution, and delivery of high-quality software or hardware products that meet organizational goals. The Vice President of Engineering plays a key role in aligning technology initiatives with business strategy, fostering innovation, maintaining operational excellence, and developing engineering talent.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead the engineering organization in developing and implementing technical strategies aligned with the company’s objectives.
- Direct and manage engineering managers, team leads, and individual contributors across multiple functional areas.
- Establish and maintain engineering standards, processes, and performance metrics to ensure quality and efficiency in all projects.
· Collaborate with cross-functional leadership (Product, Design, Operations, · etc.) to drive product development and operational initiatives.
- Oversee project timelines, resource planning, and budgets to ensure successful and timely product delivery.
- Develop and oversee the engineering department’s annual budget, ensuring strategic allocation of resources across headcount, infrastructure, and Ramp;D while maintaining fiscal discipline and hitting profitability targets.
- Define and promote engineering best practices, including code quality, testing, security, performance, and deployment methodologies.
- Identify and mitigate technical risks; ensure system reliability, scalability, and maintainability.
- Recruit, develop, and retain top engineering talent; provide mentorship, performance management, and career development opportunities.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools, and processes that improve productivity and quality.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, industry standards, and applicable regulations.
- Responsible for overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the engineering department.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws, including hiring, onboarding, performance evaluation, professional development, and disciplinary actions.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience leading complex, cross-functional engineering projects or programs.
- Strong technical background with knowledge of systems architecture, infrastructure, and software development practices.
- Demonstrated experience with Agile methodologies, DevOps principles, and CI/CD practices.
- Exceptional leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated success in leading complex projects from conception through execution and delivery.
- Strong people management and coaching skills; able to grow and retain talent.
- Ability to align engineering goals with broader business objectives.
