2nd Shift Sheet Metal Shop Operator/CNC



Responsible for the fabrication, finish, and assembly of sheet metal products and components in accordance with engineering drawings and specifications. Work is conducted in a manufacturing environment, and all safety, quality, and performance requirements must be met.

Qualifications / Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to safety protocols and standards and report any safety concerns.
  • Meet all quality standards ensuring customer satisfaction, declaring any nonconformities.
  • Timely and accurate clocking using multiple software programs for timecards and job costing.
  • Interprets engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to ensure accurate dimensions, angles, and tolerances.
  • Performs sheet metal fabrication using various tools and equipment such as shears, press brakes, rollers, hoists and cranes, and laser or plasma cutters to cut, bend, and shape sheet metal into required forms.
  • Assembles sheet metal parts using riveting or fastening techniques to create finished parts or sub-assemblies.
  • Verifies finished material meets specifications, using tools such as calipers, gauges, and tape measures.
  • Performs routine operator maintenance on tools and equipment as required.
  • Uses hand tools such as hammers, nail guns, impact drivers, saws, and drills, to build crates for packaging and safe transport of finished products.
  • Maintains accurate records of material use, work performed, and issues during a given process.
  • Demonstrates critical thinking skills, troubleshooting or communicating issues that may arise during the fabrication process.
  • Maintains 5S and a focus on eliminating waste in all aspects of work.
  • Customer service minded, team and detail oriented, and driven to continually improve.
  • Willingness to learn; performs other duties as assigned.

Education/Certifications:

· High school diploma or equivalent preferred
· Powered industrial vehicle experience preferred (forklift, powered pallet jack, etc….).
· Measuring device experience preferred (Comprehends 1/16” increments).
· Microsoft Office/ Excel

Physical Demands:

· Ability to perform repetitive lifting. (Up to 50 lbs.)
· Stand and walk for prolonged periods of time.
· Work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
