CNC Operator
A CNC Operator in manufacturing is a skilled team member responsible for the fabrication, finishing, and assembly of sheet metal components using CNC and fabrication equipment. This role plays an important part in producing high-quality canopy systems and metal products by ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to engineering specifications.

Job Description
- Adheres to all safety, quality, and productivity standards.
- Follows all fabrication procedures and standard operating practices.
- Reads and interprets engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to ensure accurate dimensions and tolerances.
- Operates fabrication equipment such as shears, press brakes, rollers, hoists, cranes, and laser or plasma cutting equipment to cut, bend, and shape sheet metal.
- Assembles sheet metal parts using riveting or fastening techniques to create finished components or subassemblies.
- Verifies finished materials meet specifications using measuring tools such as calipers, gauges, and tape measures.
- Performs routine operator maintenance on tools and equipment as required.
- Uses hand tools such as hammers, drills, saws, impact drivers, and nail guns to assist with fabrication and packaging of finished products.
- Builds crates for packaging and safe transport of finished products when necessary.
- Maintains accurate records of material use, work performed, and any issues during the fabrication process.
- Demonstrates critical thinking skills by troubleshooting and communicating fabrication issues.
- Maintains 5S standards and supports continuous improvement efforts in the manufacturing environment.
- Works effectively in a team environment while maintaining attention to detail and customer satisfaction.
- Willingness to learn and perform other duties as assigned.
Education / Certifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Experience operating powered industrial vehicles (forklift, pallet jack, etc.) preferred.
- Experience using precision measuring devices and reading measurements including 1/16″ increments preferred.
- Basic computer knowledge including Microsoft Office/Excel preferred.
Physical Demands
- Ability to perform repetitive lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
