Process/Industrial Engineer

Arning Companies seeking a highly skilled Process/Industrial Engineer to design, implement, and optimize our modular manufacturing operations. This role will be central to establishing efficient production workflows, setting up workstations, aligning manpower requirements, implementing lean manufacturing principles, and ensuring seamless integration of quality, supply chain, and reporting systems.

The successful candidate will be a hands-on problem solver with a proven track record in industrial engineering, lean manufacturing, and production line setup, preferably within modular construction, prefabrication, or related manufacturing industries.

ONLY US BASED ON SITE ENGINEERS WILL BE CONSIDERED

Key Responsibilities

Manufacturing Operations Setup

  • Design and implement a factory floor layoutaligned with takt time and production flow targets.
  • Establish and standardize workstationsaccording to production phases (receiving, chassis build, wall/roof assembly, MEP rough-in, finishes, QC, shipping).
  • Define process flowsto minimize waste, bottlenecks, and rework.

Lean Manufacturing Implementation

  • Develop and deploy standard work instructions (SOPs), visual controls, and station checklists.
  • Apply lean tools such as5S, Kanban, value stream mapping, and andon systems.
  • Lead Kaizen eventsto continuously improve efficiency and quality.

Manpower & Workflow Planning

  • Assign and balance crew sizesand skills per station based on takt time and production requirements.
  • Conduct time studies to validate staffing models and optimize resource allocation.
  • Ensure cross-training programsare in place to maintain flexibility.

Quality & Reporting

  • Install in-process quality control (QC) gatesand final inspection protocols.
  • Monitor First Pass Yield (FPY), rework, and defect trends; implement corrective actions.

Supply Chain & Materials Flow

  • Coordinate with materials and logistics to ensure kitting, point-of-use delivery, and inventory accuracy.
  • Integrate supply chain schedules with production takt for zero-line stoppages.
  • Support vendor qualification and part standardization to reduce variability.

Qualifications

  • At least a Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in industrial/process engineering; modular construction, prefabrication, or automotive experience strongly preferred.
  • Proven success in lean manufacturing implementation.
  • Strong knowledge of factory layout planning, takt time, and production line design.
  • Hands-on experience with supply chain integrationin a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with CAD, process mapping, and ERP/MES systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.

Key Competencies

  • Strong analytical and process-driven mindset.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive cultural change.
  • Hands-on approach to problem solving and implementation.
  • Results-oriented with a focus on continuous improvement.

Performance Metrics

  • Takt adherence ≥ 95% within 90 days of implementation.
  • FPY improvement +10 points within 6 months.
  • Rework reduction by 25% within 90 days.
